NASKAR Coming to Longview?
By Lola Lane -- SandBagger News
    As
NASKAR coming to Longview?
debate rages on over plans to bring a Lowe's Hardware store to Longview, one forward-thinking group has proposed a sensible alternative.
"Let's get a NASKAR track instead," said an unnamed, unauthorized spokesperson for an undisclosed secret civic organization dedicated to the betterment of the local community, and bowling team.  "People worry about traffic from a hardware store.  Just wait until the NASKAR track opens.  It will be ten times worse, and talk about noise?"
Earlier this month, by stealth and dark of night (or perhaps it wasn't) a group of public spirited citizens, who may or may not be associated with the secret civic organization, reportedly went to the site of the proposed Lowe,s Hardware store on Ocean Beach Highway and installed a boldly painted four by eight foot sign congratulating Longview on the future NASKAR track coming in 2005.
"How else will we get a track here?" the unnamed spokesperson wanted to know.  "Think of the sign as a really big, really flat nest egg like they used to put in hens' nests to encourage them to lay eggs.  It's the same principle, only you don't need a rooster."
