Lt. Raymie Walters
(Our Man in Iraq)
By Joe Daggy -- SandBagger News
On July 8th, the Washington Post ran an article entitled, "In Place of Gunfire, a Rain of Rocks,"  featuring day-to-day events in the life of Longview, Washington's Lt. Raymie Walters, son of past SandBagger President Dwain Buck.  The report follows Lt. Walters and other soldiers of the occupation forces in Iraq.
The glimpse of Lt. Walters work examines our military effort in Iraq to assess continuing changes in the level of tension there.  The relationship between U.S. Troops and the Iraqi people is generally poor, but the article shows there is some evidence of the first stages of cooperation, in part because of the efforts of Lt. Walters and his fellows.  It's a slow processmoving one day at a time.
The article has been republished in papers around the globe.  You can read it at:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A37660-2004Jul8_3.html
