Samantha overcame a crippl-ing overeducation at Yale, the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, and Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a master's degree in professional writing,  to find work in advertising, where her career was highlighted by a slogan for expensive imported beer.  Although that slogan was inexplicably never used, she later landed a jobs in journalism at the Register Citizen of Torrington, Conn., then the New Haven Register, before coming to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

She works in Pittsburgh, chained to an oar at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette where she toils as Web Publisher while writing her weekly humor column, mostly on Iron City Beer cocktail napkins which she pushes under her editor's door.

In addition to writing about male cows and holy dirt, Samantha Bennett is Vice President of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.  She has appeared on the television program "The Weakest Link," performed onstage as a mating dinosaur and was one of 2,700 nude people in Cleveland for an art installation

Her mother thinks she is wonderful.
